The Department of Justice (DoJ) of Jefferson Beauregard Sessions III, this stalwart of civil rights of our era in March 2018, reopened the inquiry into the murder of Emmett Till because they have found “new” information about the case.
Emmett Louis Till was a 14-year-old African-American who was lynched in Mississippi in 1955, after a white woman [-Carolyn Bryant-] said she was offended by him in her family’s grocery store.

Jeff is such an active leader on civil rights that Coretta Scott King the late wife of Dr Martin Luther King Junior wrote the Senate Judiciary Committee in March 1986 urging the committee not to affirm Sessions’ appointment as a federal judge asserting that Mr Jefferson Beauregard Sessions III appointment:
 would irreparably damage the work of my husband
The world know’s that Till was lynched by Carolyn Bryant’s husband, Roy Bryant and his half-brother J.W. Milam because they wanted to make an example of Emmett Till. Milam stated
“As long as I live and can do anything about it, niggass are gonna stay in their place. Niggas ain’t gonna vote where I live. If they did, they’d control the government. They ain’t gonna go to school with my kids. And when a nigger gets close to mentioning sex with a white woman, he’s tired o’ livin’. I’m likely to kill him.”
Both Roy Bryant and J.W. Milam were vindicated by an all-white jury, and both later confessed to killing Emmett Till.
Whatever the “new” information is discovered by the DoJ, let’s all hope it also appreciates common sense, civility, and compassion.
