Can you do Trinidad Carnival on a budget?

I was recently olë talking with two 🐎 of mine about Carnival. I eh go call no names, because ah recently travelled with them to 🇯🇲 and I eh want to blowup dey spot.

Anywho, them fellas tell me dey have ah spreadsheet for tracking ah Carnival budget.  No lie, see below:

Trinidad Carnival Calendar

The Trinidad and Tobago Carnival is an annual event held on the Monday and Tuesday before Ash Wednesday in Trinidad and Tobago. The event is well known for participants’ colorful costumes and exuberant celebrations. There are numerous cultural events such as “band launch fetes” running in the lead up to the street parade on Carnival Monday and Tuesday.

Now, I like ah party jus’ as much as the other man but when the medium GDP per capita in 🇹🇹 is approximately $15K TTD, somehow the math in my head doh wuk at all. Between fetes which average about $500 TTD to as much as $1400 TTD for all-inclusive, then another cool $5000 TTD at least for ah Carnival Monday and Tuesday costume that shit can get expensive. I was doing the math in my head after talking to my horse and them and it will cost me ah cool $4000 USD to play mas! Yes, sir almost two mortgage payments. As dey say I eh like like my “money jumping up in steel band“.
