You know you are a true Trini if, among a long list of other things…. You’ve called someone (or been called) chunkalunks, thick thing, family (even if she’s not remotely related to you!) doo-do, dahlin’, reds, breds, horse or partner.

It’s very rare that families get together. Typically nuptials and funerals are the only opportunities to reconnect.  Fortuitously, the Haitians, Americans, and Trinidadians were able to connect this weekend; in celebration of my sister’s wedding. Folks travelled in from far and wide to part take in the festivities. Between the Haitians and Trinidadians, it was real bacchanal.
The after party called for an impromptu pot of pelau at Leeds Creek circle where the blag lasted late into the night.
A good time was had by all until the next wedding. Laters family safe travels, ah gorn!
